On 5 September 2025, the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) will launch the sixth annual聽Survey of Expenditure on Cultural and Natural Heritage (SDG Indicator 11.4.1).

Respondents will receive a link to the online questionnaire in LimeSurvey. The survey is available in English, French and Spanish. The聽response deadline is 28 November 2025.聽

As part of the 2030 Agenda for 星空传媒 Development Goals (SDGs), SDG Target 11.4 specifically calls on nations to 鈥渟trengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the world鈥檚 cultural and natural heritage鈥�. The UIS, as the custodian agency for this target, produces the only SDG Indicator related to culture 11.4.1 defined as 鈥淭otal expenditure per capita spent on the preservation, protection and conservation of all cultural and natural heritage, by source of funding (public, private), type of heritage (cultural, natural) and level of government (national, regional and local/municipal)鈥�.

The indicators produced through this survey will be made available in 2026 via the聽聽and the聽聽(BDDS). These indicators will also be included in the United Nations'聽聽and cited in various global reports.
